Rosa Gallardo, originally Cuban-born came to the United States as a baby with her family to live in New York where she live for the first 8 years of her life. Due to health complications, Rosa and her family moved to South Florida and she has made South Florida her home since then.
Rosa graduated from Miami Dade Community College from its paralegal program and has worked for Chief Magistrate Judge Ted E. Bandstra for the past 19 years in the Federal Court, Southern Division of Florida. Before working for the Federal Government, Rosa worked as a Legal Secretary for Fowler, White, a large private firm. She has over 26 years of experience in the legal profession.
Rosa has always felt the desire and need to create. In 2007, she began to study interior decorating and then painting. She found herself taking art classes with R.C. Bailey, who exposed her to the basic painting skills with oil paint on canvas. She has been painting ever since.
Rosa wanted to learn how to work with different mediums and as a result she started taking classes with Baruj Salinas. Under the direction of Barouj Salinas, she has expanded her work to different mediums and has an impressionistic style.
Although very new to the art world, Rosa has captured light in her paintings, her work is always done with passion. A lot of her inspirations come from her dreams and imagination. She sees things differently now that she is an artist, she gets lost for hours in what she calls her “Gift” from God. Most of her creations have a somewhat spiritual feeling. She believes that her observation as an artist allows her to create or to assimilate and recreate an image in her own style, with shades, color and form.
A Self Expression.
I have a unique perspective in my artwork, mixing realism with impressionism. I was trained by both R.C. Bailey (in oil painting) and Barju Salinas (in multimedia painting) and currently working with Hector Maldonado with both sculpting, pastels and impressionistic painting.
Having a decorating eye allows me to mix both modern and traditional styles,.
